Once again, our Western Colorado Old Town Crier fans and world travelers, Dave and Linda Allin, took the OTC with them on their trip to Scotland and Ireland. Dave tells us, “Early in the trip, when we were as hale and hearty as the knights of old, we climbed to the top battlements of Blarney Castle on the River Blarney northwest of Cork in southern Ireland. This tower includes a large and legendary block of limestone placed 85 feet above the base of the castle back in 1446. Visitors line up to kiss the Blarney stone to be rewarded with the gift of gab a few steps away from where Linda is displaying the OTC in front of the Blarney bell tower. And for those of you who have met Dave…we believe he may have kissed it somewhere along the way.
