“The Lady in the Cowboy Hat”

“The Lady in the Cowboy Hat”

I knew I had to find with “The Lady in the Cowboy Hat,” after watching her on Anthony Bourdin’s – Parts Unknown.
Every evening around 5 p.m., take a walk or taxi to Chang Phueak, the north gate in Chiang Mai, which is popular for its street food stalls. Look for a food stall called, “Khao Kha Moo Chang Phueak.”
There you’ll find the proprietor, a pretty lady in a cowboy hat with high heels, sporting a Rolex, and welding a giant clever as she slices pork. She happily serves one mouth-watering dish, Khao Kha Moo which is pork over rice with gravy and a soft boiled duck egg. On the table though, you could add your own chilies, cloves of raw garlic, and pickled mustard greens. Khao Kha Moo is a basic popular Thai dish packed with flavor.
So if you like tasty adventures, look for a huge line at this street stand and don’t miss “The Lady in the Cowboy Hat.”
